My husband and I are huge Disney World fans and last year we took the Keys to the Kingdom Tour at the Magic Kingdom. In four hours we walked pretty much the entire park with our guide pointing out all the little details that the Imagineers had built in - then at the end we went down into the Utilidors under the Magic Kingdom. That place is huge with all the offices and food stores for the restaurants. We also saw the pipe that runs under the bakery where they pipe out the aroma of freshly baked cookies onto Main Street - now that's pretty cool ;)

The fact that it is named Club 33 is very interesting to me as many feel that Walt Disney was a freemason, and the number 33 is very significant to them.

Wow - thanks for the info. Never been to Disneyland; don't think we will, either, as Disney World is everything we want. Unless, of course, someone invites me to dinner at Club 33!

There is an exclusive, members-only restaurant above the shops in Disneyland! It's called Club 33. Walt Disney had a small apartment above Pirates of the Caribbean. He wanted a place close where he could entertain important guests in private. A restaurant was built overlooking the water. You have to fill out an application and be on a wait list (right now I hear it's 10 years) for the privilege of joining. Then you have to pay (no one says how much...but it is believed to be several thousand dollars) for the right to join. It's an amazing experience. You would never believe you were in Disney because there is nothing "Mickey Mouse" about it. Beautiful wooden bar, decor selected by Walt's wife, and gourmet food. Probably $75-100 a person and up for dinner?

No such thing in Disney World, however. At least not that I have heard of. We are WDW visitors each year as well but have only been to DL once (on our trip to Club 33 without the kids!).

We go to Florida every year... just got our tickets in the mail a few days ago for the upcoming years (10-day, no expiration). So, what's the answer to the members-only restaurant above the shops on Main St.?
